Pet Sitter Preparations

Here are some things to think about when leaving instructions for your pet sitter.  All of this and more will be covered in the consultation. 

  • What specific services are you requesting?
  • Where are the phone, leash, cage, food, food bowls, litter box?
  • What is the name, phone number and address of your veterinarian?
  • What are the rules for play, feeding, etc.?
  • Does your pet have any fears or special needs?
  • If medication is necessary, instructions for administering.
  • Is pet friendly with other animals or people?
  • If an alarm is to be set, instructions for doing so.
  • Are vaccinations up to date?  Is your pet spayed or neutered?
  • Are there certain areas of the home the pet is not allowed?
  • Do you prefer your pet not to be handled?
  • Does anyone else have access to the house while you are away?
  • Do you require the cage to be cleaned?  If so, where are all supplies?
  • Which complimentary services would you like while away?
  • Can your pet run around outside?
  • What exercise should your pet receive?
  • Should your pet be caged between pet sitter visits?
  • Is your pet allergic to anything specific?
